Fownhope vs Hinton - Hereford Premier Division

Hinton got back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory away to Fownhope. Hinton dominated possession in the first half and delivered a couple good crosses but could not finish the chances off. Jody Dawe was a persistent thorn in the Fownhope side as he run at their full back with pace time and again. The Hinton defence looked solid throughout and Fownhope failed to create any chances but they were handed an opportunity to score from the spot when the referee awarded a penalty that had the whole ground confused. The Fownhope striker duely buried the kick.

At 1-0 down at half time Hinton came out strong and continued their domination of the game. Hinton's pressure was finally rewarded when a Jody Dawe corner was headed home by Pete Myles. More controversial official decisions created frustration for both sides which resulted in a pretty scrappy final 20 minutes with several players receiving bookings. Fownhope, playing for time, were on the back foot as Hinton continued to pile on the pressure. On 85 minutes Hinton's persistence resulted in a match winning scissors kick goal by Myles for his second goal from a Dawe cross.
