A sun bathed Broomy Hill welcomed the division one leaders Wellington.  The home side were swiftly into the lead following an assertive start where Hinton moved the ball smoothly through from defence to cause the visitors several moments of concern.  After 5 minutes a corner from Bowley cleared the six yard area and was deftly returned by Davies for New to beat the defenders and placed into the net.

Wellington, shocked, burst into life and should have equalised when they beat the off side flag correctly and pushed wide a good scoring opportunity, but this change in the flow of the game continued for the next 20 minutes.  Body was replaced with Trattell flowing a injury and soon the division leaders drew level with breakaway goal, and then into the lead with spectacular goal were the striker turner the defender and thundered a shot into the goal leaving Hopkins stranded.

After the halftime refreshments the game continued to be an entertaining affair, with chances being created by both teams, but causing more concern to the trees at one end and the parked cars at the other than the two keepers that remained mostly unused.  The pyshically larger visitors continued to have the upper hand and New was replaced folllowing another injury incurred on the day by Matthews.  The next 25 minutes saw another switch in the game as Hinton pressed high up the pitch and applied long periods of possession on to the visitors and from a free kick Bowley found Maund on the back post the volley home.

Cue the final 15 minutes, the final change was made and the management introduced Edwards for Toye and moved Birch to left back and Bowley in the middle of the park.  The change maintained the pressure to search for the equaliser, but to no avail, Wellington nearly increased the lead however due to an excellent save by Hopkins the visitors remained at only one goal ahead at the close.

An excellent game that should provide a good base to continue the climb up the division table.
